What do I do the second a pipe bursts?
Shut the main off, then kill power to any circuit near standing water, then call. Water damage is largely a function of how many minutes it runs.
Why do pipes burst in Florida?
Less about freezing and more about age, pressure and material. Polybutylene, thin-wall CPVC and old galvanized all fail. High incoming pressure and water hammer speed it along, and a cold snap will finish off an exposed hose bibb.
Can you repair tonight or does it have to wait?
We respond around the clock. In most cases the failed section is replaced the same visit and pressure tested before we leave.
Should I replace the whole run?
If one section of an aging system has failed, the rest of that run is usually the same age and material. We will show you what we see and price the larger job without pushing you into it.
Will you work with my insurance?
We document what failed with photos and provide a written scope, which is what adjusters ask for. We do not handle the claim itself.
What about the water damage?
Our job is the plumbing. We can point you toward remediation and tell you honestly what needs drying, but we will not sell you a restoration package you may not need.
