Why we started
Anyone who has waited an entire day for a plumber, then been handed a bill with numbers nobody mentioned, understands the problem with this trade. It is not the work. The work is straightforward. It is the communication around it.
Florida Cracker Plumbing runs on the opposite habits. A dispatcher answers rather than a machine. You get an arrival window on the first call, not a promise to call back. The price is agreed before anything starts, including at midnight on a holiday.
The name
Florida Cracker is an old name for the people who worked this state before air conditioning made it comfortable: cattle drivers, homesteaders, the folks who built houses with deep porches and high ceilings because that was the only cooling there was. It stands for making do, doing it properly, and not putting on airs. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.
What we actually do
Drains and sewers, water heaters of every kind, leak detection and slab leaks, repipes, water lines, fixtures, gas lines, water treatment and commercial plumbing. If it carries water or gas in a building, it is our work.
How we price
Flat price for the described job, quoted before we begin. Not hourly, so a hard diagnosis does not cost you more. After-hours call-out figures are stated on the phone. Nothing is added at the end.
